The security chief Orhan Asgerov, who died in the terrorist attack on the Tehran Embassy of Azerbaijan, was bid farewell to his last journey with a ceremony. Many people, including ministers, state officials, attended the funeral ceremony held in the Second Martyrs’ Lane in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Martyr Asgerov was buried with the Azerbaijani National Anthem and prayers.

Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Tehran was attacked by an unidentified gunman on 27 January at 08:30 local time. Along with Asgerov’s death, 2 security guards were also reported getting injured during preventing the attack. The attacker was detained by Iranian security forces.
