In Turkey, the fire that broke out on the roof of the 4-storey student dormitory in Antalya’s Kumluca district was extinguished with helicopter support. Firefighters worked for about an hour to extinguish the fires, which caused great damage to the roof of the building. Lush Garden Survives Massive Forest Fire in Türkiye’s Bursa
A devastating forest fire in Türkiye’s Bursa province reduced 100 hectares to ash, but one garden in Gürsu’s Karahıdır village remained untouched. Despite the destruction, Halil Kiraz’s 25-acre nectar orchard stood green and intact. Kiraz credited his drip irrigation system, firebreak road, regular maintenance, and almsgiving: “Everything turned to ash, but my garden remained green.”
The fire began on July 26, 2025, prompting the evacuation of 1,765 people. Now extinguished, the contrast of Kiraz’s green orchard amid scorched land has drawn widespread attention.
