Israeli forces are demolishing the homes of Palestinian families in occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank on the grounds that they are unlicensed, and declared that they would continue the demolitions during Ramadan. Nine houses in the cities of Hebron and Jericho in the West Bank and four houses in a town near the city of Hebron that twenty Palestinians live were destroyed.
“Israeli authorities have demolished 67 Palestinian houses in occupied East Jerusalem since the beginning of the year on the grounds that they were unlicensed,” said a report by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. It was also stated that Israeli authorities demolished 143 Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem last year and 181 homes in 2021.
Meanwhile, Israel is positioning Israeli families in the areas Palestinians lived and does not allow Palestinians to build settlements in there.
