A bomb attack was carried out at the governor’s office in the northern Afghan province of Balkh. Asif Waziri, a spokesperson for the Balkh police, stated, “At around 9:00 a.m. today, an explosion occurred on the second floor of the governor’s office. The explosion killed Governor Mohammad Dawood Muzamil and two civilians.” Waziri indicated that an investigation into the attack has started and that he will provide more details as the situation becomes clear. Local security sources said that five people were injured and taken to the hospital. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
