Drill Orion 23, which started on February 25 in France and was carried out with the involvement of NATO countries, has ended. While 7,000 soldiers from France, the United States, Italy, Spain, Belgium, and England joined in the drill, the final phase was held in Cahors, France.
Although the army used blank bullets, sound bombs, and smoke bombs, civilians continued about their daily lives. The soldiers reclaimed the city, which had been seized during the drill scenario.
The Orion drill is undertaken every year and is conducted in the air, on land, at sea, and in cyberspace. It is regarded as one of France’s most important military exercises.
