A vehicle was flooded after heavy rains in Monterey County, California, USA, when the water level in the Salinas River rose. A driver escaped from the vehicle being dragged by the river and reached a small island, but he was subsequently stranded on the island.

California police and firefighters initiated the rescue operation. After being roped up by rescue personnel who were lowered onto the island by helicopter, the driver was carried to a safe location on the land.

According to reports, the driver is in good health.
