The US Geological Survey (USGS) reported that a 6.7-magnitude earthquake occurred 6 kilometers northeast of Balao, Ecuador, yesterday afternoon. At least 16 died and 381 injured. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 65.7 kilometers and did not trigger a tsunami disaster.
