The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced the successful test of a “Moskit” anti-ship missile in the Sea of Japan. According to the statement, the Pacific Fleet ships carried out the test in the Bay of Peter the Great, targeting a representative enemy vessel located about 100 kilometers away. Two Moskit missiles were launched jointly, hitting the target accurately.
Meanwhile, the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over the missile test, which took place approximately 700 kilometers from Hokkaido Island. Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi highlighted that while Russia is involved in aggression against Ukraine, it has also intensified its activities in the Far East.
The Moskit missile, known for its supersonic speed, can cover a range of up to 250 kilometers.
