Las fallas festival of valencia in spain ends

On the 5th day of the Las Fallas Festival of Valencia, burning a giant nurse statue made of papier-mache marked the last day of this year’s festival. The festival lasts fortnight-long in which installations of parodic papier-mache, cardboard, and wooden sculptures are traditionally burnt every year on the last day of the event (usually on 19 March) to end the festivities. The event was hold months later than traditionally, after being postponed in March due to coronavirus pandemic. Two statues chosen by the public were taken to the local Fallas Museum to be exhibited, while the rest were burnt.
