Trees that fell due to the violent storm in Lampang, Thailand’s northernmost city, restricted the roadway to two-way traffic. Instead of waiting for the crews, an elephant and its owner, who were traveling in a trailer behind a truck, stopped in traffic and cleared all the trees, reopening the road to two-way traffic.
Following the reopening of the road, the drivers honked to thank the elephant and its owner. Social media users called the elephant a hero. According to reports, the elephant is 16 years old, her name is Dan Siam, and she has participated in local Thai festivals.
