International Workers’ Day is an annual event celebrated on May 1st to celebrate employees’, their rights, accomplishments, and contributions to society. Labor Day, also known as May Day, is celebrated on the first of May throughout Europe to honor the economic and social achievements of workers and to advocate for workers’ rights.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz attended an International Workers’ Day rally in Koblenz, Germany, organized by the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB). Demonstrators for Iranian women’s rights joined the rally, while four demonstrators carried anti-Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) placards.

Despite the Constitutional Council’s adoption of the law raising France’s retirement age from 62 to 64 years old on April 14, protests against pension reform are taking place in France on International Workers’ Day. Protesters also take part in Nice’s traditional May Day march.
A rally was held on International Labor Day by protesters of the Anarchist Federation in Prague, Czech Republic. Participants took part in protests against high prices, which were exacerbated by the right-wing government, the ongoing climate crisis, war, and anti-immigrant sentiment.
