According to the British Ministry of Defense, 1,295 asylum seekers arrived in the country by 27 boats, the highest daily number since 2018. The UK search and rescue teams took 50 immigrants in total to the British border in the evening, authorities said. Since January, more than 8,000 migrants have crossed the English Channel by boats in extreme conditions to arrive in the UK.
Regarding the refugee crisis between the UK and France, French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said that France will not accept any practice that violates the law of the sea.
The British government has announced plans to deport asylum seekers crossing the English Channel to Rwanda last April.
