Three members of the 40-person rowing team became lost in the river waters as a result of an accident during a traditional rowing race in Thailand. At the conclusion of the race, the footage showed that the boat had collided with the foot of a bridge and turned over. While many of the 40-person rowing crew who fell into the water waited for help by holding on to boat, others struggled to swim against the current and panicked.
Due to the weather conditions in the region, search operations were carried out only during the daytime.
