In Brussels, the capital of Belgium, a group of Afghans gathered against the Taliban in Schuman Square in front of the European Union (EU) Commission building carrying Afghanistan flags. The protesters unfurled banners citing the situation of civilians in Afghanistan, and called on the EU to support Afghans. A large number of police were deployed to the square.
The 2025 Caner Gönyeli Search and Rescue Exercise ended with a sea drill off Gazimağusa, Northern Cyprus. In a scenario involving a migrant-carrying yacht and a cargo ship collision, Turkish and TRNC teams launched immediate rescue operations. Survivors were saved by helicopter and boats; a fire set by migrants was extinguished. The final scenario simulated a tanker collision, ending with a salute by participating air and sea units.
