Syrians began to produce in arable lands to resurrect the agricultural sector while the normalization process continues throughout the country after the overthrow of the Assad regime.
“The Assad regime left us with nothing here. They took everything; even the trees were cut down. Now we are replanting. They used the trees here for heating. We had apple, peach, apricot, and plum trees. I am planting peach saplings now. We have been working here for a month and we are replanting our trees. After Assad left, we started a new life. Assad took our lives, our youth, and our jobs. We will be reborn and start a new life. We left the houses and trees aside. They took young men, made them soldiers for 8-10 years and ended their lives,” said Syrian farmer Abdulkerim Hüseyin İjdid.
