Eight hundred flights were canceled at Germany’s Frankfurt Airport due to the strike initiated by the airport’s workers demanding improved working conditions. It was reported that 135,000 passengers were affected by the disruptions and it is estimated that this number will rise to 200,000.
In the strike launched by Germany’s United Service Sector Union (Ver.di) after the collective bargaining agreement negotiations with the Association of Federal Aviation Safety Companies (BDLS) were blocked, workers are demanding improved working conditions and increased wages.
