Thousands of protesters gathered in Tirana, the capital of Albania, accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama’s government of corruption and demanding its resignation. Demonstrators attacked the prime minister’s office with Molotov cocktails and fireworks, prompting police to respond with water cannons and tear gas.
The protest, backed by opposition leader Sali Berisha, focused on allegations against former Infrastructure and Energy Minister Belinda Balluku. Balluku faces corruption investigations linked to major infrastructure projects, a case that has deepened political tensions in Albania.
