An American Airlines flight from New York to New Delhi was diverted to Rome due to a bomb threat. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, carrying around 200 passengers, was escorted by Italian Air Force fighter jets before landing safely at Leonardo da Vinci Airport.
The airline received the threat via email while the plane was over the Caspian Sea, but it was later deemed unfounded. American Airlines assured that passenger safety remains its top priority.
