At Tampa International Airport in Florida, an American Airlines Boeing 737-800 with 174 passengers and six crew members burst a tire during takeoff. The aircraft was promptly stopped, and emergency teams extinguished the burning tire.
Airport officials reported that all passengers and crew were safely evacuated and transported to the terminal by buses. No injuries were reported. A separate flight was arranged for passengers headed to Phoenix.
The US Federal Aviation Administration has launched an investigation into the incident.
