On Thursday, a snake entered inside of an Airbus A320 type airliner belonging to AirAsia Airlines, while it was traveling from the Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur to Tawau city. While the passengers were recorded the snake in the plane’s upper compartment, the airliner made an emergency landing in Kuching city after the incident. After the images shared on social media, AirAsia’s Chief Safety Officer Liong Tien Ling made a statement regarding the incident.
“As soon as the captain was aware, he made the decision to divert the aircraft to Kuching as a precautionary measure to fumigate the aircraft,” Liong said. “At no time was the safety of guests or crew at any risk,” Liong said while stating that the captain took “appropriate precautions” by prioritizing the safety of the passengers and the crew.
Meanwhile, the airliner passengers were diverted to Tawau after the emergency landing.

In a social media post, Arakchi said, “Iran will give a tough and determined response to the violation of its rights,” criticizing the European trio for backing a resolution against Iran at the IAEA Board of Governors.
Arakchi condemned the move as baseless, recalling past disputes in 2005 which led to the expansion of Iran’s uranium enrichment. “Have these three really not learned any lessons in the last twenty years?” he said.
Meanwhile, the IAEA reported on May 31 that Iran’s 60% enriched uranium stockpile had grown from 274.8 kg in February to 408.6 kg by May 17. In response, the UK, Germany, and France are reportedly preparing to refer Iran’s file to the UN Security Council, which could activate the “snapback” mechanism and reimpose UN sanctions.
