A group of Andalusian Muslims traveling on horseback from Spain to Mecca for the hajj entered Türkiye through Edirne.
The pilgrims, following an 8,000-kilometer route, rode through the city’s streets, greeting locals after crossing the historic Meriç and Tunca Bridges. Among them, Spanish professor and doctor Abdullah Rafael Hernandez Mancha said he was fulfilling an oath he made 35 years ago.
The group paused in front of Edirne’s Old Mosque to attend Friday prayers, sharing their experiences about the long journey ahead.
