Thousands of protesters held demonstration in front of the Presidential Secretariat over two months, demanding the president’s resignation for failing to address the economic crisis in Sri Lanka. At the demonstration, where wide security measures were taken, the protesters shouted slogans. Police detained 21 people, including a Buddhist monk and 4 women, during the demonstration.
