Hundreds of protesters, led by Albania’s Democratic Party (DP), held anti-government demonstrations in Tirana, accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama’s administration of corruption and criminal ties. Despite heavy rain, the protest lasted three hours, disrupting traffic at five major intersections, including Zogu i Zi and Wilson Square.
Clashes between demonstrators and police occurred at several locations, and DP Deputy Chairman Agron Gjekmarkaj fainted during a scuffle, requiring medical attention. Opposition leader Sali Berisha joined the protests and warned of continued demonstrations if their demands remain unmet.
