A ceremony was held in Taksim Square by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education within the framework of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day celebrations in Istanbul, Turkey. Deputy Governor of Istanbul Hasan Hüseyin Can, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Ekrem İmamoğlu, Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Levent Yazıcı and many people attended the ceremony. Families also watched the ceremony that the students performed folk dances. Later on, a wreath was laid on the Republic Monument during the ceremony. The ceremony ended with a moment of silence and the singing of the Turkish National Anthem.
