Saudi Arabia’s key oil facility in Ras Tanura was struck following escalating hostilities involving Iran, Israel and the United States. A fire broke out at the refinery after the attack, but initial reports indicated no casualties.
The facility, operated by Saudi Aramco, has a daily processing capacity of 550,000 barrels and plays a central role in the country’s energy exports. Ras Tanura port handles around 75 percent of Saudi Arabia’s total oil shipments.
