Armed bandits attacked a passenger train with 970 people in Nigeria’s Kaduna state last night. The attackers exploded railroad track between the towns of Katari and Rijana to stop the train making the Abuja-Kaduna expedition and opened fire on the wagons after stopping the train. The attackers were reportedly repelled by the security forces who arrived the scene. One person was killed in the attack, and the injured were taken to the hospital, local sources stated. More casualties were prevented because the train cars were bulletproof, authorities said.
On Saturday, a security guard was killed and flights were suspended after armed attack at the airport in Kaduna province.
