Opponents of the current regime in Syria raided the As-Suwayda governor’s office to protest the worsening economic conditions.
More than 200 demonstrators gathered around the building and chanted slogans to protest the economic conditions and demand the resignation of Syrian President Bashar Assad. During the raid, the demonstrators set fire to some points of the building and tore up the hanging poster of Assad.
The regime forces harshly intervened in the protest, using their weapons to disperse the crowd.
Local sources stated that the governor was evacuated from the building beforehand.
