An extreme heat wave is being effective in the US state of Kansas. Kansas Department of Health and Environment Communications Director Matthew Lara announced that at least 2,000 cattle have perished due to extreme heat and humidity in the state. Lara stated that the owners of the cattle facility contacted the Department for the disposal of the perished animals. In addition to that, Kansas Livestock Association Spokesperson Scarlett Hagins stated that due to the increase in temperatures and humidity in western Kansas over the weekend, the cattle began to experience heat stress and the animals could not get used to the sudden change.

Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan criticized the international community for failing to stop Israel’s attacks on Gaza, where he said “babies, children, and the elderly die of starvation.” He called for urgent UN reform, arguing the current system cannot end oppression in the Middle East.
Erdoğan also highlighted Türkiye’s role in supporting regional peace efforts in Syria, the South Caucasus, and Central Asia, stressing cooperation through the Turkic States Organization and major transport projects like the Middle Corridor and Development Road. He said Türkiye seeks a just global order based on diplomacy, trade, and stability.
