An extreme heat wave is being effective in the US state of Kansas. Kansas Department of Health and Environment Communications Director Matthew Lara announced that at least 2,000 cattle have perished due to extreme heat and humidity in the state. Lara stated that the owners of the cattle facility contacted the Department for the disposal of the perished animals. In addition to that, Kansas Livestock Association Spokesperson Scarlett Hagins stated that due to the increase in temperatures and humidity in western Kansas over the weekend, the cattle began to experience heat stress and the animals could not get used to the sudden change.

Two Killed in Attack Near Israeli Embassy in Washington

Two Israeli Embassy employees were killed in an armed attack near the Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., at around 9:00 p.m. local time. The suspect, 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez from Chicago, was arrested at the scene after shouting “Free Palestine.”

US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem condemned the attack and vowed justice, while the FBI launched a hate crime and terrorism investigation.
