The number of people killed in the attack was 300, according to a statement issued by the Mariupol City Council regarding the loss of life in the incident, in which dozens of people were buried under the rubble after Russian airstrike on the Mariupol Drama Theater in Ukraine’s Mariupol on March 16. “Unfortunately, we have bad news to begin the day. We learned that about 300 people have lost their lives after a Russian plane bombed the Mariupol Drama Theater. We still can’t believe what we’re hearing. We may be able to restore the structures, but we will never be able to bring our friends, neighbors, families, and relatives back,” the statement reads.
