A passenger plane that took off from Nepal’s capital Kathmandu at 10:33 am local time crashed during landing attempt at Pokhara Airport. Among 72 on board, including 2 infants, 4 crew members and 10 foreigners, were confirmed dead.
Hundreds of rescue workers are working on the site of the accident.
Electricity has been restored to parts of Spain, Portugal, and France after widespread outages disrupted transport, businesses, and daily life. Similar outages hit Lisbon and Porto, with authorities advising against airport travel. France experienced brief outages, with power quickly restored.
