The armed assailants who stormed the Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) facility in the Kahramankazan district of Ankara, Türkiye, took several employees hostage.
“When I spoke to my brother, he said there were explosions and gunshots inside and that they continued for several minutes. When we spoke to him half an hour later, he said that they had been taken to a safe area by security,” said the relative of one of the hostages.
In Türkiye’s Bitlis province, bears living in the Nemrut Caldera, the world’s second-largest crater lake, were seen plunging into the icy waters to escape the summer heat. Tourists filmed the animals swimming and playing, creating striking wildlife scenes.
A mother bear and her two cubs also approached picnickers’ tables in search of food. Experts warned visitors not to feed the bears or leave food out, stressing that close encounters disrupt natural behavior and pose risks to both humans and animals.
