During protests in Los Angeles against US President Donald Trump’s anti-immigration policies, Australian journalist Lauren Tomasi of 9News was shot in the leg with a rubber bullet by police while broadcasting.
The incident occurred amid heightened tensions following Trump’s deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to the city. Despite being injured, Tomasi told bystanders, “I’m fine,” as she left the scene.
