An avalanche struck the Yenisu village area in Genç district, Bingöl, prompting search and rescue initiatives for a missing individual believed to be trapped. The incident was reported by the family when they couldn’t contact the person who had gone to his home in the affected region. Gendarmerie teams, alongside AFAD, Sar Search and Rescue, and security personnel, initiated efforts upon discovering footprints in the avalanche-hit area. Governor Ahmet Hamdi Usta confirmed the ongoing full-scale search and rescue operations.

In the Adilcevaz district of Bitlis province in eastern Türkiye, red poppies have started to bloom with the arrival of warmer weather and recent heavy rainfall.
The natural red flowers, which grow wild across the region, have turned large fields into a colorful landscape. Locals and visitors often stop to take photos of the scene, which has become a favorite among nature and photography lovers.
Orhan Emen, a local resident, said, “The poppies that bloom every year have returned. Due to the heavy rains, many fields have turned completely red. It’s a beautiful sight.”
