The Azerbaijani army and the Turkish Armed Forces have initiated a joint military exercise named “Mustafa Kemal Atatürk 2023” in Azerbaijan. This exercise commemorates the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye. The exercise involves nearly 3,000 personnel, 130 armored vehicles, around 100 artillery batteries, more than 20 warplanes, helicopters, military engineering vehicles, and small boats.
The participating military units are employing modern warfare tactics, including coordinating artillery and air operations, constructing artificial bridges over rivers, approaching enemy targets, and organizing military operations. The exercise, running until October 25 in Baku, Nakhchivan, and formerly occupied regions, aims to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces while facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experience.
