After the anti-terrorism operation against the armed Armenian forces in Karabakh ended, Azerbaijan connected the city of Khankendi in the Karabakh region to its own power grid. In the statement made by the Azerbaijan Presidential Administration, it was said that Khankendi’s electricity was provided through the additional 110 kV high voltage poles installed near the transformer center in Shusha as of September 19.

“Khankendi is now lit by Azerbaijani power,” the statement said.

Budapest Hosts Turkic States Summit

Budapest is set to host the Organization of Turkic States (TDT) Informal Summit on May 20–21, marking the first time a country with observer status, Hungary, will host the event. The city has been decorated with TDT flags ahead of the summit, which will take place at the historic Varkert Bazar near the Danube.

Leaders from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Hungary are expected to attend. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will also hold bilateral talks during his visit.

The summit will focus on deepening strategic cooperation among Turkic states, with discussions on economic ties, security, and cultural heritage. The event will conclude with the adoption of the Budapest Declaration.
