Azerbaijan’s national flag, displayed on Baku’s National Flag Square, has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for its size. Measuring 36 by 72 meters and weighing over 500 kilograms, the massive flag achieved its world record status on November 6. President Ilham Aliyev attended the flag-raising ceremony, coinciding with Azerbaijan’s Victory Day celebrations.
Baku’s National Flag Square previously held the Guinness record for the world’s tallest flagpole in 2010 with its 162-meter structure, though it was later surpassed by taller flagpoles in Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
