Azerbaijani Special Forces showcased their prowess in a recent exercise focused on “Conducting combat operations in severe winter conditions.” The exercise, in line with this year’s plan, saw the successful neutralization of a simulated sabotage group in challenging winter terrain. The units adeptly used mountaineering equipment in mountainous and difficult-to-pass areas, emphasizing skills in steep descents and slopes. Sniper units demonstrated proficiency in selecting firing positions, camouflaging, and engaging targets individually and in pairs. The exercise aimed to improve unit management, command personnel skills, and overall combat readiness. The outstanding performance of the Special Forces was recognized in enhancing the operational capabilities of the armed forces.

A powerful explosion at a gas station in eastern Rome injured more than 20 people, including eight police officers and a firefighter. The blast, which occurred after a truck reportedly damaged a pipeline, triggered a fire that spread to a nearby warehouse and caused damage to surrounding buildings.
