The 3-day European Triathlon Championship, held in the Balıkesir province of Türkiye and attended by 514 triathletes from 34 countries, attracted great attention from sports lovers. The number of viewers of the championship, which is over 38,000, exceeded the record number set during another triathlon championship in Portugal, which was 33,000.
“We have presented an exemplary organization not only for Türkiye but also for the world. We are a candidate to be the center of sports,” said Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın.
