A coach came across a bear in a tunnel on the Gümüşhane-Trabzon highway. The bear, figuring out that it’s harder to pass through the mountain by climbing it, used the Mecitli Tunnel to get to the other side faster.
“I was sitting in the front seat of the bus. Many of the passengers were asleep. Just when we entered the Mescitli tunnel, I realized that a bear was running on the sidewalk, and I immediately grabbed my mobile phone. After exiting the tunnel, the bear disappeared. It was a pretty big bear. It caused excitement on the bus.” said one of the passengers.
Recently, Gümüşhane is frequently visited by bears that are in search of food.
