Berlin Airport Workers Strike, Hundreds of Flights Canceled

Public and ground service workers at Berlin Brandenburg Airport staged a strike as part of a nationwide labor action in Germany, affecting operations at 11 major airports. Around 100 workers marched through the terminal, demanding better wages and working conditions.

The strike led to the cancellation of 246 flights, disrupting travel for approximately 67,000 passengers. The Ver.di labor union is calling for an 8% wage increase or a minimum raise of €350, along with three additional leave days. Employers warn that meeting these demands could create financial strain.

Negotiations between the union and employers will continue in Potsdam from March 14-16. The strike is set to end at 23:59 tonight.
