The childhood home of world weightlifting legend Naim Süleymanoğlu in Mestanlı, Bulgaria, has been restored and turned into a museum under a 2021 TİKA project. The official opening takes place today with Türkiye’s Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak.
The ceremony marks the 8th anniversary of Süleymanoğlu’s death. As part of the same program, the rebuilt Kırcaali Central Mosque, restored with Türkiye’s support, will also be inaugurated.
