Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket, owned by Jeff Bezos, launched from Cape Canaveral as part of NASA’s ESCAPADE mission to Mars. The rocket placed two satellites into orbit and successfully landed about 10 minutes later. The satellites are expected to reach Mars in 22 months to study its atmosphere and magnetic field.
Blue Origin CEO Dave Limp said he was proud of the team’s success. The launch has renewed comparisons with Elon Musk’s SpaceX, with Musk congratulating Blue Origin on social media.
