Around 13:30 local time, a boat with 8 people on board sank off the coast of Fatih Ahırkapı in Istanbul after taking on water for an unknown reason. Following the captain’s call for help, everybody was rescued by the teams of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety and safely returned to the land.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan hosted Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh at the Dolmabahçe Office in Istanbul. The summit, which has now concluded, focused on energy cooperation in the Mediterranean, the situation in Gaza, and combating irregular migration. A joint media statement is expected to follow.
