The Kyrgyzstan Border Guard Service stated that the  clashes on the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan continue. “Armed clashes continue in all parts of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border. The soldiers of the Kyrgyzstan Border Guard Service, who are on duty at the border, respond with fire. The Kyrgyzstan Border Guard Service expresses its concern about the development of the situation in the Kyrgyz-Tajik part of the state border and draws attention to the increasing provocations on the state border,” the statement said. Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a diplomatic note was sent to Tajikistan in response to the border attacks.

According to Tajikistan news, 2 soldiers were killed and 11 people were injured in the clashes, 6 of whom were soldiers. Authorities in Kyrgyzstan also reported that 38 people were injured, including 2 soldiers.
