A landslide occurred in the Rolling Hills Estate city of Los Angeles County, California, USA, destroying 12 houses and prompted evacuation of 5 others, according to local authorities. While the road in the area was closed to traffic, the electricity was cut off. The Rolling Hills Estates City Council has decided to declare a state of emergency due to the slipping of the ground.
“This ground movement could be due to heavy rains or something else that we are not yet aware of,” said Pete Goodrich of the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
