The last two Caretta caretta nests were opened in Turkish beach Çıralı as the nesting season of the ‘Caretta caretta’ and ‘Chelonia mydas’ species of sea turtles comes to an end for this season.

The record of the last 30 years was broken with 180 nests in Çıralı, one of the 22 nesting areas in the country, and approximately 4,000 baby Caretta carettas met the sea this year.

Both species were listed on the red list of endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
