A fatal chain traffic accident involving a passenger bus and other vehicles occurred on the highway connecting the capital Cairo and Alexandria in the Beheira region of Egypt. The Egyptian Ministry of Health reported that 32 people died and 63 people were injured. A large number of medical teams and police were dispatched to the region.
According to police sources, the collision was triggered by an oil leak in one of the vehicles, which also caused some of the vehicles to catch fire.
