The chairlift system carrying workers upwards in a coal mine owned by China Coal Group in Luliang city of Shanxi province in northern China suddenly started working in the opposite direction due to a malfunction On June 15. Three workers lost their lives in the disastrous accident, while many others were injured, 1 of them seriously. Mining operations were suspended.
