Circassians living in Turkey criticized the German media outlet Deutsche Welle after it published a headline that claiming that Circassians in Turkey being assimilated and their culture are dying out. People from Kiçir village, which its population is mostly Circassian and located in Simav district of Kütahya city, responded harshly to the striking headline of Deutsche Welle, and emphasize that allegation of Circassian assimilation in Turkey is a lie. 68 years old Metin Canbulut, who made a great contribution to the teaching of Circassian culture and language in the Kiçir village, stated that Deutsche Welle’s headline about the Circassian assimilation is a provocative publication against the Republic of Turkey.
In his statement, “Circassians preserved their identity, culture and language by be known to be most trusty people all over the world. They may have run into some difficulties some periods of time in Turkey. There could be some people have suffered because of Circassian Ethem in first years of establishment of our country. However, Circassians always be assigned to most the most critical and key points and have perform their task successful in Turkey. The press agency called Deutsche Welle deliberately made a broadcast against the Circassians to make them discriminate, hit the streets and fall each other.
