Civilians fleeing Russian attacks take shelter in stadium in Lviv

Following Russia’s attacks on Ukraine, millions of civilians fleeing conflict zones are flocking to the Polish border city of Lviv. Hundreds of Ukrainians took refuge in the Lviv stadium while waiting for a train to take them to European countries. Those who do not have a place to stay among the civilians arriving at the Lviv train station are transported to the stadium by buses. Civilians are given food and clothing aid here, and then they proceed to the country’s border gates.

“We came from Kharkiv. My parents stayed behind while I ran away with my son. We stayed for seven days in the shelter, and the child was terrified. A bomb fell on the house the day we were planning to leave. We took the boy’s belongings, but I didn’t get anything. They greeted us warmly in Lviv. They are both hosts and feeders. People invite us to stay their home. We had intended to travel abroad, but there was a problem with the paperwork,” a Ukrainian citizen who took refuge in the stadium with his son said in a statement.
